The company relies on cutting-edge storage technology from Hänel at its new location in Medical Valley in Forchheim. And with one clear objective: Optimize processes, reduce space requirements, and fulfill design standards.

Rethinking storage space – at the heart of the production environment

To create space for a new recreational area, a Hänel Lean-Lift® was installed directly next to production. Use of vertical storage and integration into an existing niche in the wall meant that valuable floor space was saved. The Hänel space-saving pitch allows the available room height to be used to the full. This creates additional storage space for small components, tools, and equipment within a minimum footprint.

Especially practical: Material is compactly stored exactly where it is needed. This reduces walking distances, speeds up work processes, and adds greater structure to daily working life.

Design and function in perfect harmony

All machines in Popp’s production hall come in a defined shade of white. To coordinate with this, the Hänel Lean-Lift® was painted a special color and thus blends harmoniously with the modern, clean working environment. The new access point design with smooth transitions, stylish accent colors, and angled side sections reinforces the high standards of aesthetics and quality.

Intelligent technology for greater transparency

Fitted with the Hänel MP 14 N StandAlone controller and a large 12-inch touchscreen, the Lean-Lift® is particularly easy to operate. The integrated camera above the access opening provides a live image of the current storage position directly on the display using Hänel PictureControl. Items can therefore be visually identified based on the container image and accurately assigned.

All stock inputs and outputs are seamlessly documented in the process. A defined number of pictures can be archived for each multifunction container. Ideal for maximum traceability.

Precision right down to the last detail

The Hänel solution impresses in the area of order picking, too, thanks to its sophisticated technology: Counting scales integrated directly at the lift accurately record bulk goods; the quantity is automatically determined and the material is made available directly at the assembly line. A label printer also assists with the identification of parts.

Thanks to access code management, access to the Lean-Lift® can be precisely controlled, significantly enhancing process reliability.

Maximum storage density with multifunction containers

The Hänel multifunction containers used in the lift have an integrated space-saving pitch to enable especially compact storage of a range of items. The available storage capacity is therefore optimally used and even sensitive components are protected in the enclosed system from dust, dirt, and unauthorized access.
